Your Appointment

Call, stop by the studio or visit our website to schedule your appointment.  After scheduling your appointment, you will receive a confirmation with information about what to expect and how to prepare.  For call-in and walk-in appointments, it is not necessary to prepay your sitting fee.  All online appointments require prepayment of the session fee.  At Ron Smith Photography, session fees are based on the number of outfits, not the number of poses.  I do not limit the number of poses in each outfit.  Number of poses is only a factor in your final order.

Your Previews

Over the last few years, proofing via in-studio slideshows has become popular.  I still believe in using printed previews for my guests.  Therefore, the previews from Ron Smith Photography are 4x5 prints delivered in a preview book.  With printed previewss, you may review them with family and friends prior to making your final picture selection.  Of course there is some inherent risk with printed previews; primarily that customers may ignore the fact that all prints from the studio are copyright protected and scan their previews.  I believe your convenience outweighs that risk.

Having said that, there are some precautions that I do take.  Each preview is watermarked with the Ron Smith Photography logo and copyright information.  The previewss are intended for you to determine which images you want made into final prints based on composition, expression and overall appearance. Previews are created from a lower resolution file, processed in batch and are lightly retouched.  The preview book is yours to keep with a package purchase of $500 or more, or you may purchase it when you order a package less than $500.  You also have an option to purchase an entire set of unmarked previews with your package purchase.  A $150 retainer is  required to take your previews from the studio.  The retainer will be applied to your package order.

Your Order

Your final prints are created from a higher resolution file and the conversion process is done a per image basis.  Therefore, your final prints will look different than your previews.  Furthermore, all final prints are retouched to mask any flaws, blemishes, whiten teeth and artistically enhanced to create your portraits.  All final portraits are printed by one of the country's premier professional photography labs.  Wallet prints are delivered in a wallet box.  The 5x7 and 8x10 prints are delivered in deluxe portrait folders.  The 8x10 prints are sprayed with a luster coating at no additonal charge.  The 11x14 and larger prints are mounted to hardboard and also have the luster coating.

Pictures for yearbook submission are included with all packages.  Pictures will meet the yearbook submission criteria.  For Clarkston, Holly, Kettering and Mott High Schools, Ron Smith Photography will deliver your yearbook picture prior to the deadline.  All other schools' yearbook pictures will be delivered to the customer.   Yearbook pictures will be available after you purchase a package.

A minimum of 50% of the balance must be paid when placing your package order. To ensure timely delivery of yeabook pictures, orders must be placed within 3 weeks of receiving your proofs.  Orders not placed within 3 weeks of receiving previews will be subject to forfeiture of the $150 retainer.  Be sure to bring your preview book in with your order.

Your Print Pickup

The total order amount must be paid prior to delivery of any part of the order.  Normal delivery time for orders is 4-6 weeks.  Final prints must be picked up within 60 days of print ready notification.

Miscellaneous Items

Weather - If you have made an indoor/outdoor appointment and the weather does not appear to be cooperating, give us a call and we can reschedule or continue with the indoor shoot and reschedule the outdoor session.  We do not charge a split session fee if weather is the cause for splitting the session.

Cancellations - If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so at least 72 hours prior to your appointment.

People in the camera room - Mothers, fathers, friends, etc. are welcome in the camera room during your session.  However, we do limit the number of people in the camera room to 1 plus the person being photographed.  Other people who accompany you are welcome to sit in our comfortable lounge area.
